| Hi! How are you? Hope you're feeling well because
I'm feeling just great! I love summer! It's such a wonderful feeling just to
kick back and enjoy the freedom. Unfortunately, most of us are taking classes,
including me. My Astronomy class provides me with plenty of work to do. So much for
kicking back and enjoying the sunshine. But, the class will be over very soon and
FREEDOM, here I come.
My name is Christina Li. I live in Arcadia with my mom, dad, brother, and two adorable dogs. Arcadia is a really nice place. It's a nice neighborhood with a lot of pretty houses, except for the pink mansions (those aren't so pretty). The schools are supposed to be quite excellent (that's why my family moved here in the first place), but I know some people would say otherwise. There are definitely some teachers that are great, one of a kind, best of the of the best; but then there are other teachers that well..... All in all, I think the schools are pretty good. I know I had an awesome time at First Avenue, and I hope Arcadia High will be just as great. I am a good for nothing. The one thing that I love to do is read. Everything else ranks below it. Sleep is probably next, then piano, and then being bored and editing my page or otherwise wasting my eyes away in front of the computer. Oh yeah, and flute. Can't forget flute. I am not a big Mozart fan, never was, never will be, but I tolerate it. Six weeks of Mozart's flute concerto No.1, first movement is really starting to try my patience, though. My dogs are the nicest dogs in the whole wide world. The bigger one hates the gardener but is absolutely terrified of him. We usually let the dogs stay in the house when the gardener comes, but if we forget, the bigger dog will jump the fence into the side garden and hide under the deck. On the otherhand, if she's in the house, she'll stand next to the window and bark her lungs out. I've got a rather cowardly dog, but the best that any kid could want. The smaller dog, is nice to people, but mean to other animals. She is always bullying my other dog even though she is smaller. She likes to catch possums and play with them if they make the big mistake of wandering into our yard. When we brought the dogs to a cousin's house, she attempted to catch two skunks in a period of three weeks. The first time, both the dogs got sprayed really badly and were really uncomfortable for a couple days. The second time, the little dog must have been feeling vindictive and went after it again. She got sprayed. Neither of the times did she actually catch the skunk. She just doesn't learn. But she's lovable and a great friend to have around. My family is the greatest ever. I always hear people complaining about how their parents don't let them do this and their brother tortures them and blah blah blah. So I know that I'm really blessed to have such a great family. My mom is the absolute coolest mom ever. She's strict if she has to be, but we're always willing to obey her rules because they're reasonable. She gives us a lot of free reign and lets us do what we want to. She is always willing to sit down with me and help me with my homework or anything I don't understand. It's very common in our house to hear, "Mommy!" successively from two different rooms and see my mom striding back and forth down the hallway from my room to my brother's. My dad is a different type of person. He is usually found working very hard at his computer. He loves to work. But, when he has to play the part of SuperDad, he does the most complete job I've ever seen. He can even cook! I didn't even know until this summer because we came up to the Bay Area to take classes and my dad was staying up here with us while my mom had to go back and work. I gotta tell you, I was very impressed! My brother is the coolest guy I know. I remember we used to fight when I was in third grade and he was in sixth. But now, it's so cool to hang out with him. I love playing ping pong with him even though I can never beat him. Oh yeah, another thing I should add to the "things I love to do" list: ping pong. In my entire life, I've only beaten my brother twice at ping pong and it happened in the same day, so it must have been just a crummy day for him and a good one for me. My brother is a really smart guy and really talented too. He is very serious about violin. He also loves basketball and video games. Not only that, he loves to read as much as I do and he is academically excellent. I can always depend on my brother to recommend books for me to read. I think I've already written too much. I salute you who actually spent the time to read all of my gobbledygook. I meant to write about my friends too, but you know who you are and how much you mean to me. Have a great summer! Christina |
